Nestled at the convergence of Lake Michigan and the Grand River, Grand Haven has served as a meeting point for millennia. Used as a trading post by the Potawatomi and Ottawa and later the French, it is now primarily a resort town for people from Grand Rapids, Detroit, Chicago and beyond. It's annual Coast Guard Festival has earned it the moniker Coast Guard City USA.
